The Central attendance area is east Wilmette: the blocks closest to Lake Michigan, Gillson Park and the beaches. It also includes the CAGE, one of the most sought-after pockets in town. I'm Sarah Jividen, and I walked Central Avenue from the Metra station, past Central School and down to Gillson for my street series. Here's what buyers should know.

Two train options: the Metra station near the Village Center and the CTA Purple Line terminal at Linden Avenue.
The Bahá'à House of Worship and Plaza del Lago are nearby.
In summer, Gillson Park and the beach are an easy walk or bike ride, so many families make it part of their regular routine. Being close to the lake also tends to mean cooler summer evenings than in neighborhoods farther west.
Central suits families who want the lake to be part of daily life and love older architecture. Like any established neighborhood, it comes with tradeoffs. Many homes are more than a century old, so it’s smart to budget for updates to older systems over time. Homes closest to the lake tend to carry the highest prices, and well-kept older homes don’t come up often, so it helps to be ready to move when the right one does. Buyers who want an easier entry point can look at condos and townhomes near the Village Center and still be a short walk from the beach..

I know the Central Elementary area block by block, from the Village Center and Metra station east to Gillson Park and the lake. Homes close to the lake and those near downtown can feel like different neighborhoods, and I'll help you find the blocks that fit how your family actually lives.
Most of my clients are families upsizing before a school transition. I manage the buy-and-sell timing so you aren't carrying two homes or rushing a decision.
