Avoca District 37: Wilmette's Other School District

Most buyers assume every Wilmette address is in District 39. It isn't. Part of Wilmette, along with pieces of Glenview, Northfield and unincorporated Winnetka, is in Avoca School District 37. Most Avoca students live in Wilmette, and Avoca graduates also go on to New Trier. I'm Sarah Jividen, and this is the page I wish more buyers read before they start touring.

How Avoca differs from District 39

Where it is

Avoca covers parts of west and northwest Wilmette near Illinois Road, including part of Indian Hill Estates, plus areas of east Glenview, Northfield and unincorporated Winnetka. Boundaries don't follow town lines, so confirm any address with Avoca District 37 directly.

Why work with me

On the North Shore, two homes on the same street can feed into different school districts. In the Wilmette part of Avoca, that's not a rare edge case. It's something I check on every home, because the wrong assumption can change your child's school and your home's resale value. I've organized my own Indian Hill Estates tours by District 37 and District 39 for exactly this reason. Not sure whether a home is in Avoca or District 39? Send me the address, and I'll check.
